A court in Brazzaville , capital of the Republic of the Congo , has sentenced Jean-Guy Blaise Mayolas , president of the national football federation, to life imprisonment in a major corruption case involving international football funding. Mayolas, who led the Congolese Football Federation (FECOFOOT) , was convicted of embezzling more than $1 million in development funds provided by FIFA .
